Registrations & Catchment Area


Following our recent list closure application to East & North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), we have now received confirmation that our application has been approved.

We will therefore no longer accept new patient registrations from Monday 28th June 2021 to Monday 27th September 2021.

Whilst our list is closed, we are only permitted to accept an application for inclusion on our list from a person who is an immediate family member of a currently registered patient – there are no exceptions to this rule.

Our list will re-open on Tuesday 28th September 2021.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

How to register:

If you live within our practice boundary, please download our registration forms & return to our Reception team. Please note you may not automatically be registered on the day therefore please do not expect to be seen immediately. We aim to register new patients within 7 working days, please wait for us to confirm your details are on our system. Within this timeframe you will be expected to contact your current Surgery for medication / appointment requests.

We request as part of the registration process, photo identification (e.g. passport or driving licence) & proof of address (e.g. utility bill), however if you do not have these you are still able to register with us & can update our receptionist.

All new patients can book a 'new patient check' with our Nurse once you are registered. Please ensure you speak to our reception team if you need to see a Doctor to discuss more in depth issues as our receptionist will book the appointment to allow enough time for the Doctor to ascertain your clinical needs.

How do I register as a temporary resident with Parsonage Surgery?

Immediately Necessary Treatment:
If you are not registered with us or a another local GP, but require "immediately necessary treatment” as you are ill whilst away from home, or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one urgently, you can receive emergency treatment with us for up to 14 days if we have appointment availability. The surgery reserves the right to refuse temporary registration where appointment capacity is limited.

Patients can also call NHS 111 if urgent treatment is required

Our reception team will take your contact details / symptoms & triage these with our GP to ascertain appointment availability. Our Reception team will contact you back once our GP has provided an update.

Please note, if our GP agrees we have capacity to see you, you will need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your offered appointment time and complete a GMS3 temporary resident registration form, you will also need to supply the relevant Identification.

Temporary Residents / Immediately Necessary treatment will only be offered for acute medical conditions. Patients should return to their own GP for non-urgent referrals & chronic condition management.

Temporary Registration

If you need treatment for more than 14 days you will need to register with us as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can register as a temporary resident if you plan to live near the GP surgery for up to three months (unless our list is closed)

After three months you will need to apply to register with us as a permanent resident.

You can register temporarily with a GP while away from home for work, study or holiday. You'll still remain registered with your permanent GP.

Your temporary GP will pass details of any treatment you have to your GP, who will add the information to your medical records.

You cannot register as a temporary patient with our practice if you are already registered with a GP in the local area.

This website has information about why we are required by law to ask for proof of identity before treatment, & contact details for patients to ask questions & share any concerns with the overseas team.

Patients who register with a non UK mobile numbers will not be able to receive text reminders / confirmation of appointments etc. We would urge patients to therefore obtain a UK mobile & record this number on the registration form.
